Is John Stossel Anti-American?

Remember when we were told how much conservatives just love our country so much it makes them cry?

Apparently, some conservatives hate President Obama a lot more than they love their country.

Fox News right-wing commentator John Stossel is an interesting character, who probably still has a nugget rolling around in his head after being smacked around by wrestler Dr. D David Schultz back in the day (see the video below as his smart, disrespectful as was dealt with by Schultz).

Recently, Stossel again went on the attack of the United States, the city of Chicago and U.S. President Barack Obama for its efforts to hold BP accountable for its mess in the Gulf of Mexico. In an effort to get justifiable compensation for the victims of BPs mess, the president has worked with a lot of people to set up an escrow account that will help real Americans who are suffering.

Stossel, has attacked the president for this effort. According to a Media Matters for America report, Stossel referred to this effort as a "thuggish Chicago shakedown" and referred to the president as "Vladimir Obama."

Once again, it shows the hatred that conservative Americans have for this president. They hate President Obama so much they are willing to attack their own country and president to back British Petroleum, which has done great damage to our environment.

Sarah Palin = Clueless

Sarah "Player Hatin'" Palin is back at it again attacking President Obama for not stopping the Gulf of Mexico oil spill while appearing utterly clueless when asked about how she would stop it.

It's difficult to believe people actually would vote for her to be president.

Cut Out The Foolishness With Oil Spill Blame Game

Perhaps if President Obama could turn into Aquaman, and swim to the ocean floor, he could simply plug the hole himself and take away the whining of right wingers still smarting with an emotional wedgie over the blame President Bush took for Hurricane Katrina.

More and more right wingers are attempting to blame the president for the oil leak (including a few misguided liberals). It's interesting that small-government conservatives are now whining about why President Obama (the government) is not doing more to help them. Since President Obama is all powerful - as conservatives now make him out to be - perhaps he could convert himself into Aquaman and swim into the Gulf of Mexico. Perhaps, like Aquaman, he could communicate with sea animals to enlist their help and warn them of the danger in the area of the oil spill.

Seriously, people, this is not a fault thing. If anyone can stop this oil leak it would have been done by now. BP wants to stop this as bad as anyone, and has been ineffective.

If BP can't stop it then I doubt President Obama or anyone else is going to be able to stop it.

This is an accident that has gotten out of control. Obviously, if we had Aquaman, it would be better for us. Unfortunately, however, Aquaman is a fictional character (cool as he seems to a lot of us) who can't help in this instance.

My humor is not directed at those who suffer due to BP's oil spill. Rather, this humor is directed at the morons who act as though there is a simple solution and President Obama just has not done it.

There is no simple solution to the latest issue right wingers are calling "Obama's Katrina." And, sadly enough, this disastrous leak could go on longer than any of us want to imagine.

Divisive Rand Paul Echoed By Fox News' John Stossel

Tea Party candidate Rand Paul, a radical Republican heavily influenced by the Tea Partiers, is showing his true colors. And, those true colors of Paul are frightening.

Paul has already inexplicably taken shots at the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and seemingly advocated that private businesses should be allowed to discriminate against black people. While he has since tried to walk back his comments, those words were a window into his heart. Paul might have been in the clear until moronic and irresponsible Fox News commentator John Stossel, another right-wing extremist, came on to not only back up Paul but go beyond. Stossel, best known to me for getting slapped around by former wrestler Dr. D David Schultz (after Stossel had insulted him by saying wrestling as fake right to his face), through gasoline on Paul just as the fire was beginning to be put out.

This all brings me to a column I was reading at Salon.com written by Joan Walsh, one of my favorite writers and television personalities.

Walsh had this to say as she was discussing what some people view as her perceptions of the Tea Party movement. In particular, I am highlighting Paul's comments defending a big business and foreign oil company (British Petroleum) while attacking President Obama:

But I don't see a lot of room for cooperation between left- and right-wing libertarians, or the Tea Partiers and left-wing critics of corporate control over the government. One problem, of course, is Rand Paul's controversial approach to civil rights. But I think it's potentially bigger news that he called President Obama "un-American" for criticizing British Petroleum over the Gulf oil spill, rather than merely saying "accidents happen." Unbelievably, he expressed similar feelings about a coal mining accident in his own state that killed two men. "We had a mining accident that was very tragic," Paul said. "Then we come in and it's always someone's fault. Maybe sometimes accidents happen."

Is that the Tea Party philosophy at work: "Accidents happen," people die, and private industry should be left alone, not even criticized, when they do?

So, Paul is defending an oil company.

Paul is defending a foreign oil company.

Paul is defending a foreign oil company responsible for a devastating oil spill the likes of which we have probably never seen.

Paul is attacking President Obama for calling out the oil company.

Paul is defending the foreign oil company responsible for a disastrous spill in the Gulf of Mexico and then calling President Obama "un-American" for holding BP responsible.

As Walsh said, he could have said accidents happen and left it at that, but no...

Paul had to take an opportunity to attack President Obama.

It seems Rand Paul is more interested in protecting rich companies and criticizing our president and less interested in the victims: real people and the environment.

Imagine if President Obama was defending BP.
