Player Hatin' Palin Is Back At It With Her Attacks On Michelle Obama

There has been no shortage of talk about quitter former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's ridiculous and misguided comments attacking first lady Michelle Obama who is leading a national campaign to combat obesity among young people.

You will hear a lot of people say a lot of things about what Palin is doing, but before I get to that lets get to some of what she had to say via Roland Martin on CNN who cited Huffington Post:

"Take her anti-obesity thing that she is on. She is on this kick, right. What she is telling us is she cannot trust parents to make decisions for their own children, for their own families in what we should eat.

"And I know I'm going to be again criticized for bringing this up, but instead of a government thinking that they need to take over and make decisions for us according to some politician or politician's wife priorities, just leave us alone, get off our back and allow us as individuals to exercise our own God-given rights to make our own decisions and then our country gets back on the right track."

I really think this comes down to one thing: the blind-rage hatred that people like Palin and others on the right have for the Obamas.

This is a reckless and ignorant attack on Palin's part. Part of it is she is selling a book, but another part of it shows how pathetic it is that people would actually vote for her to be president of the United States.

Palin is driven by blind-rage hatred of anything that does not fit her world view and right-wing self righteousness.

A VERY large number of these extremist right wingers, tea baggers, birthers, truthers, etc. flat out hate President Obama and have ever since summer of 2008 when he emerged as the front runner to represent the Democrats in the presidential election.

Sarah Palin Is OK With 'Nigger' But Not With 'Retarded' ... Apparently

Sarah Palin seems to be OK with the word "nigger" but is not so cool with people saying the word "retarded" because it is offensive line "nigger" is to people. Huh?

Former half-term Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin continues to prove why a person would have to be a fool to think of this person as a legitimate candidate for the presidency of the United States of America.

There are people of color in America. We're not all white people, Sarah.

Lets face it, Palin symbolically spit in the face of black Americans recently with her absurd rush to defend the disgraced Dr. Laura Schlessinger, who viciously attacked a black female guest on her radio program who called in for help to set off a racial powder keg after she used the so-called N-word like 11 times during a verbal tirade on the air.

Palin, posing as a constitutional scholar misleadingly advising us on the first amendment, rushes to the defense of Dr. Laura, who uttered "nigger" the way most humans use the word "the" in conversation. Palin didn't seem to have much of a problem with Dr. Laura dropping "nigger" left and right. Interestingly enough, Palin's defense of Dr. Laura is even more bizarre considering these words Schlessinger offered when Palin was named the vice presidential nominee:

I’m stunned – couldn’t the Republican Party find one competent female with adult children to run for Vice President with McCain? I realize his advisors probably didn’t want a “mature” woman, as the Democrats keep harping on his age. But really, what kind of role model is a woman whose fifth child was recently born with a serious issue, Down Syndrome, and then goes back to the job of Governor within days of the birth?

That Dr. Laura is quite the sweetheart, eh? Sarah sure knows how to pick 'em, huh?

It just goes to show that, for Palin, far-right politics trumps all else - even family.

You may recall that Palin had a fit and called for Rahm Emanuel, President Obama's chief of staff, to be fired for his use of the word "retarded" in a negative way a while ago.

At an August strategy session of liberal groups and White House aides, the Wall Street Journal recently reported, Emanuel told liberals they were "F-ing retarded" for planning to air attack ads against conservative Democrats opposed to health care reform.

Obviously, not good on Emanuel's part in this kind of a politically correct climate. Once upon a time, it might have been OK to use that word in that context, but not anymore (not in his kind of a high-profile position).

Palin, of course, launched a political nuclear war to score points for her side.

"Just as we'd be appalled if any public figure of Rahm's stature ever used the 'N-word' or other such inappropriate language, Rahm's slur on all God's children with cognitive and developmental disabilities – and the people who love them – is unacceptable, and it's heartbreaking," Palin wrote.

"Heartbreaking," to Palin, is saying "retarded" in a way she sees as hurtful, but it's not apparently "heartbreaking" for "nigger" to be used in a way that is hurtful - if you're Sarah Palin.

Now, not to say Dr. Laura is a person of Rahm Emanuel's stature (spare me that argument Dr. Laura/Palin defenders), but it is kind of interesting to see Palin rush to the defense of someone using "retarded" which she seemed to put in the category of the so-called N-word.

BUT, when Dr. Laura used the N-word so often she sounded like a record on a player that was skipping, Palin did not seem to be quite so offended.

She told Dr. Laura, "don't retreat...reload." It seems that, in Palin's world, saying "retarded" is so horribly wrong and an offense worthy of termination, but "nigger" is no big deal and people who use it shouldn't back down, and instead would be advised to "don't retreat...reload."

Sarah Fought Homer And Homer Won ... D'oh

Sarah Palin, who quit halfway through her first term as governor of Alaska to make money and become a celebrity, might have caught an ass whuppin' due to her inflated ego.

One has to wonder what was going through Palin's mind when she went to confront a woman holding a sign that read: "WORST GOVERNOR EVER!"The woman carrying the sign was Kathleen Gustafson, a school teacher in Alaska. I have to believe that Palin thought she had a chance to show some toughness by confronting a heckler of sorts. It also is reasonable to assume that the former governor turned Fox News personality (where all GOP presidential candidates get paid and receive a platform to stay in the public light) thought she had an easy mark with Gustafson.

But, Palin found out that Gustafson was maybe a little tougher than anticipated as a couple of stooges walked around and weakly attempted to shield Princess Sarah from the eye of the camera.

Palin appeared to laugh and roll her eyes when the woman said that she was a teacher.

GUSTAFSON: You swore on your precious Bible that you would uphold the interests of this state, and then when cash was waved in front of your face, you quit.

PALIN: OH, you wanted me to be your governor! I’m honored! Thank you!

GUSTAFSON: I wanted you to honor your responsibilities. That is what I wanted. I wanted you to be part of the political process instead of becoming a celebrity so that you could (inaudible). And if that’s the best you could do, then good for you. If that’s the best you could do.

PALIN: Here’s the deal. Here’s the deal. [...] That’s what I’m out there fightin’ for Americans to be able to have a Constitution protected so that we can have free speech…And also there…

GUSTAFSON: In what way are you fighting for that?

PALIN: Oh my goodness!

GUSTAFSON: In what way?

PALIN: To elect candidates who understand the Constitution, to protect our military interests so that we can keep on fightin’ for our constitution that will protect some of the freedoms that evidently are important to you too.

GUSTAFSON: By using your celebrity status, certainly not by political status.

Sarah Palin Attacks Presidency, Barack Obama

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who quit on the state of Alaska, is now lecturing President Obama on what it means to be a leader in an appalling display at the far-right Tea Party Convention.

Once again, Palin proves that she didn’t get it then and she still does not get it now as she goes around the country cashing in on her fame and promoting herself on Fox News.

Hypocrite Sarah Palin Is Back At It Again … Now Posing As A Birther

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, the darling of the right-wing, is back at it again – this time giving comfort to the nutty birthers who continue to attack President Obama. Governor Palin, who cried about the media and people coming after her as she resigned from her position in governor’s office in Alaska, now is continuing to advance the pathetic mission of the birthers. During a segment on the show of a right-ring radio talker named Rusty Humphries, it was Palin who went out of her way to provide a soothing hand of comfort to the birther morons who just can’t seem to come to grips with the president of the United States of America being a black man. That’s right, I said it. I do believe that this birther movement largely is motivated by a strong prejudice.

Yesterday while appearing on the right-wing radio show of Rusty Humphries, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin expressed her allegiance with the birther movement. She asserted that it was a “fair question” to ask whether President Obama was born in the U.S. “I think the public rightfully is still making it an issue,” she said. “I don’t have a problem with that.”

She doesn’t have a problem with it because she is a right-wing extremist, who has a bias against the president and you have to wonder if it is just a political and philosophical bias.

After the media picked up her comments, Palin went on her Facebook page at 1:16 a.m. and criticized reporters for calling her a birther and pushing “stupid conspiracies”:

Voters have every right to ask candidates for information if they so choose. I’ve pointed out that it was seemingly fair game during the 2008 election for many on the left to badger my doctor and lawyer for proof that Trig is in fact my child. Conspiracy-minded reporters and voters had a right to ask… which they have repeatedly. But at no point – not during the campaign, and not during recent interviews – have I asked the president to produce his birth certificate or suggested that he was not born in the United States.

And, as Think Progress later pointed out, it was Palin who left the position of governor of Alaska crying about how the media and people were advancing all of these attacks on her. Then, she turns around and helps push an attack on President Obama that was long ago refuted. She cried about how the media, politicians and political operatives were attacking her and making it so difficult for her to conduct business (she was being dogged by allegations of ethics violations). Then she turns around and contributes to the same thing against President Obama.

Sarah Palin feels the “politics of personal destruction” are OK as long as they are directed at President Obama or some other Democrat and not directed at her.

Sarah Palin believes questions from idiot birthers in regard to where President Obama was born are OK, but questions raised about potential ethics violations against her are part of the “politics of personal destruction.”

Sarah Palin is a hypocrite.

Sarah Palin Quits As Alaska Governor

Sarah Palin quitting as governor of Alaska is probably not a really big surprise. The timing, however, is a little surprising to me.

Think Progress reads:

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) announced this morning from her home in Wasilla that she will not be seeking re-election and that she will be stepping down in a few weeks. Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell will be inaugurated as Alaska’s governor on July 25.

So, there are some questions we’re left to ponder: 1. Is Sarah Palin gearing up to make a run for the presidency in 2012? 2. Is there some scandal forcing her out? 3. Is she simply tired of politics and the media? Time will answer those questions and others. Indeed, there are probably a lot more questions, but those are some that come to mind at first thought.

Here’s another question: Is Palin a serious candidate for the presidency?

Personally, I just can’t see how she can be taken seriously as a presidential candidate. Republicans would be unbelievably stupid to nominate her for the presidency in 2012 (unless they want to put her up as a sacrificial lamb thinking President Obama could be unbeatable).

Now, as to Palin, I agree entirely with what Mara said. She is — she has star power without any doubt. She has an extremely devoted following. But she is not a serious candidate for the presidency.

She had to go home and study and spend a lot of time on issues in which she was not adept last year, and she hasn’t. She has to stop speaking in clichés and platitudes. It won’t work.

It could work for eight weeks if you’re the number two candidate, as she was last year. But even so, she got singed a lot in that campaign. You cannot sustain a campaign of platitudes and clichés over a year and a half if you’re running for the presidency.

Palin can’t be taken seriously as a candidate for the presidency. If she was even going to attempt to be taken more seriously she would be better advised to take on a role as a senator or congresswoman. She was severely lacking on the national stage beyond one-dimensional popularity among hardcore right wingers who were pleased to see someone other than an old white guy become popular with the big “R” by their name.

Sarah Palin went out on the Alaskan stage the way she stepped onto (and off of) the national stage: Crying relentlessly about the media (an easy target), singing her own praises (the ones she could muster) and vomiting one-dimensional Republican talking points.

Palin would be best served to go home and chill out since “only dead fish go with the flow.”

It’s better than sleeping with the political fishes in 2012.

Greta Van Susteren’s Inexplicable Obsession With The Palins Continues

Fox News talk show host Greta Van Susteren had an unhealthy (borderline unprofessional) obsession with the family of Alaska Republican Gov. Sarah Palin. That was obvious through the presidential campaign of 2008 when Palin was the vice presidential candidate on the ticket with presidential candidate John McCain.

Apparently, however, Van Susteren’s obsession with the Palins now includes a new role as media liaison for the first family of Alaska.

The message is bold: Clear all questions for the Palins through Greta first.
