Here Comes Bill O’Reilly To Sarah Palin’s Rescue

After virtually ignoring white supremacist James W. Von Brunn, who shot up the Holocaust Memorial Museum and murdered innocent yet courageous guard Stephen T. Johns (while devoting a painful amount of time to discussing gay penguins in Germany), Fox News conservative commentator Bill O’Reilly now seems poised to come to the rescue of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. The headline for tonight’s The O’Reilly Factor is dramatically called: “SARAH UNDER SIEGE.”Sarah Palin and her family are subjected to bad jokes and she is “under siege,” but Stephen T. Johns is gunned down by a white supremacist and barely makes a blip on O’Reilly’s radar. Maybe we measure the amount of time O’Reilly has spent sprinting to Sarah Palin’s rescue (any time anyone says anything even remotely negative about her) vs. how much time he as devoted to domestic terrorism (including the murder of Stephen T. Johns). Has Bill O’Reilly devoted much coverage to Daniel James Murray, “the gun-loving loon” as the New York Daily News called him? Apparently, David Letterman making an inappropriate joke about the Palin family is more important than domestic terrorism and a guy wanting to kill President Obama? Face it, this is a great opportunity for O’Reilly. Not only does he get to come to Palin’s rescue, he also gets to bash the so-called “liberal” media and appease his conservative audience. Striving for objectivity (not) his show is billed as having the far-right Glenn Beck on for “analysis.” O’Reilly and Beck will never have the nickname ”fair and balanced.”
