New Michael Moore Film Set To Come Out In Venice

It will be interesting to see what Michael Moore has in store for the world in his next film, “Capitalism: A Love Story.” The provocative Moore never ceases to draw attention with his powerful work that is designed to light fire under people and force them to think outside of their personal box.

Here is an excerpt from the story:

VENICE, Italy — Michael Moore says his film “Capitalism: A Love Story” is dedicated to “good people … who’ve had their lives ruined” by the quest for profit.

After much success at Cannes, Moore premieres the movie Sunday in his first appearance at the Venice Film Festival. It was warmly received at a press showing Saturday evening and won positive reviews. Variety called it one of Moore’s “best pics.”

“I am personally affected by good people who struggle, who work hard and who’ve had their lives ruined by decisions that are made by people who do not have their best interest at heart, but who have the best interest of the bottom line, of the company, at heart,” Moore told reporters Sunday.

Moore’s films are thought provoking and never dull.

A Massive Crowd … Of 15 … Protest Letterman And Look Foolish

The protests are underway as angry people protest outside of The Late Show studios as a show of strength and solidarity against a stupid joke made by comedian David Letterman (that he has apologized for repeatedly). Well, a crowd that swelled up to 15 (according to a CNN report) protested outside of the studio home of the Late Show. The crowd, large as it was, may have been difficult to see since it was outnumbered by the media (35) more than two to one.

Here’s an excerpt from the CNN Web site:

Radio talk show host John Ziegler — who is behind the FireDavidLetterman.com Web site that organized the protest, and who is an outspoken supporter of the former Republican vice presidential candidate — told reporters that the turnout at the event was not representative of the number of people who have responded to his site and e-mailed.

He also argued that Letterman should have been fired, and the only reasons that he hasn’t been fired were “the media’s love of David Letterman and the media’s distrust and, I believe, hatred of Sarah Palin.”

He also called Letterman’s apology — issued on Monday’s program and accepted by Palin — bogus and said that the comedian should make a charitable donation to an organization of Palin’s choosing.

Ziegler made a film about the 2008 presidential campaign called “Media Malpractice: How Obama Got Elected and Palin Was Targeted.”

A part of me wants to dislike this Ziegler cat, but it’s hard. It’s painfully difficult to do much more than laugh at the guy (if for no other reason than for his Sarah Palin obsession and whining about anything that doesn’t go her way).
