When attacking President Obama, conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh loves to go to race. Check out the below comment and pay attention to how he, as Talking Points Memo says, Limbaugh seems to convey the message that being half black and half white is some kind of a negative.
LIMBAUGH: “It is offensive to the sensibilities of millions of people to hear a member of the state-run media refer to a half-black, half-white human being with no experience running anything of substance referred to as a god. He may be president of the United States, but he’s not a god.”
I can only imagine what goes through the mind of the extremist nuts that make Rush Limbaugh (who is racially insensitive at best and flat-out racist at worse) so popular. Limbaugh gives his audience what it wants, and perhaps this kind of hateful and divisive rhetoric is precisely what his audience covets.
Oh, and President Obama ran a kick-ass campaign in 2008 – ask John McCain and Sarah Palin.
