All this time later, O'Reilly still finds a need to defend himself against his idiotic comments and then try to turn himself into the victim and in essence accuse black people of being crybabies.
Here is what O'Reilly said, as documented by Think Progress, during a recent episode of his Fox News show:
This is false. There is nothing wrong with white journalists reporting on black people. Many true journalists (O'Reilly is not a journalist, but is instead a right-wing commentator) can objectively talk about black people without it being poisoned by a far-right bias. The problem with O'Reilly is that he talks down to black people, lectures them about how irresponsible he sees them as being, badmouths black icons, tells black people who they should admire and who their heroes should be and so on and so forth.O’REILLY: Now, Juan, in a serious vein, and we talked about this with the infamous Sylvia deal a couple of ago, a few years ago, I, and many other white journalists, now don’t do nearly as many reports on African-Americans or their problems, because we don’t want to be put in a situation where our opinion is taken out of context, rammed down our throat as Media Matters and all these other sleazeoids do. So unless it’s a big thing, if it’s an optional thing where I used to do it, I’m not doing it anymore. If I go to Sylvia’s restaurant, a primarily black restaurant, very fine in Harlem, I’m not going to say anything about it anymore, which is not good for Sylvia’s because she got a lot of good publicity from that.
Then he tries to pat himself on the back by talking about how much he did for Sylvia's.
O'Reilly crying about someone else taking him out of context is laughable since he frequently does it to his targets.
Finally, Bill O'Reilly calling Media Matters for America "sleazoids"is like O.J. Simpson chastising someone for being a bad husband.

Bill has a knack of covering a story and finding some way to make it about him. The Sylvia's controversy happened nearly 3 years ago and he still can't let it go. Instead of apologizing and moving on, he's got to distort the comments he made about Sylvia's and play the role of victim. As for Juan Williams... I realize he has bills to pay just like the rest of us, but come on man! He knows (or should know) damn well that Bill went beyond saying that Sylvia's was a great restaurant.
Bill's hatred of Media Matters is kinda funny... twisted as hell, but funny. How dare they post clips (in context) of what Bill says?! It's sad that there are people in Bill's audience who take his word as gospel and really believe he's "looking out for the folks".
That's what is so crazy. Bill can't let that Sylvia's issue go because he knows he was living foul with his comments and was called out on them by people like Dr. Boyce Watkins. Juan Williams is just a stooge on their to give Fox News a person of color. He is allowed to speak as a liberal just enough to make some people think he is, but in the end he always knows he has to pay those bills (like you said). He is not about to bite too hard on the hand that is feeding him.
Bill doesn't like that people are out there policing him and calling him out on his hypocrisy and outright lies. So, what does he do, he attacks Media Matters for showing people what he himself is saying.
