CNN’s Howard Kurtz Pushing Media Bias In Favor Of Barack Obama

CNN’s Howard Kurtz, host of the Sunday morning show Reliable Sources has constantly been pushing the theme of media bias in favor of President-elect Barack Obama. Today, Kurtz is on CNN ramming through the notion that even the coverage of the election is akin to cheer leading for Obama (as if so many people are supposedly in the tank for the president-elect). Kurtz has been mostly fair during his career, but I think that he is coming across as pushing an agenda that he feels strongly about on a show that is dedicated to exposing biases in the news. In other words, Kurtz is obsessivelycontradicting his own show’s purpose by attempting to impress upon people the coverage has been liberally biased. This is a historic moment and the job of the newspaper is to not only report all sides of the issue, but to appeal to the interests of readers. This is why the media (particularly big-city newspapers and big-city television stations) reporton sensationalistic stories and avoid stories about school board meetings, city commission meetings and county commission meetings. Are you more interested in Barack Obama and George W. Bush or who was just elected drain commissioner?
