What A Magnificent Moment For This Nation: President Barack Obama
What an awesome moment to witness Barack Obama be sworn in as the 44th president of the United States of America. He is the 44th president, but he is the first black president of the United States of America; that alone is nothing short of a monumental achievement. All of us, as Americans, can feel a sense of pride as we were there to enjoy history in the making as we’ve watched him go from Sen. Barack Obama to President-elect Barack Obama to President Barack Obama in a relatively short period of time. It’s an awesome responsibility he is tasked with, but he has proved himself worthy of this position and I hope all of us, as Americans before Democrats and Republicans, will join forces to support the person who has been duly elected president of the United States of America. Obviously, now is a time for an almost euphoric sense of pride, but we know hard work is ahead of the new president. Our economy is damaged, our position in the world is damaged, and people are suffering under the enormous weight of debt (credit card, student loan, etc.), but many things about our nation remains unbreakable: our will and our determination to succeed against all odds and all obstacles we’ve faced to become the greatest nation in the history of the world. The United States of America has faced tough times in the past, and each time has risen to the challenge. I expect, I hope, that once again that will prove to be true. It will not be easy for the new president, but has proved resilient, determined, driven, a builder of consensus, a uniter and the right person for this job at this time in our nation’s rich history.
