Michigan justifiably said no to Sen. Jim Bunning of Kentucky. Bunning, a Republican, is one of a number of GOP individuals who have stood in opposition to the government lending a helping hand to the auto industry. Bunning was supposed to sign autographs at the Gilbratar Trade Center in Taylor, Mich., just outside of Detroit. In Michigan, it is a prestigious place where many former great athletes from Detroit are invited to sign autographs and to interact with fans. But, in light of Bunning, a former Detroit Tigers baseball star, turning his back on working-class families in Michigan who are tied to the auto industry, some in the state of Michigan have decided to dis-invite Bunning to take part in anything at the Gilbratar Trade Center. Bunning has helped to damage the economy in the state of Michigan and it stands to reason that the people of that great state would want nothing to do with him. Bunning should take this time to reevaluate what he is as a senator and ask where his priorities are as someone who is trusted with power to help people. Bunning has spit in the face of working-class citizens, he has spit in the face of the auto industry and all other businesses that are impacted by the auto industry. Republicans have disgraced themselves and should be ashamed. But, you have to have a level of character to feel a level of shame.
