Fox News channel’s Sean Hannity, who has turned bias to a new low and continues to be a fountain of misinformation, was finally “rewarded” for his right-wing efforts. Media Matters for America has named the blantantly-biased Hannity it’s 2008 Misinformer of the Year. We should all commend Media Matters for taking the time to meticulously compile all of the misinformation that Hannity has spewed during the last year (clearly, this was no simply task). I would encourage all people to take a look at Sean Hannity, the new champion of misinformation by familiarizing yourselves with the lies and half-truths that have come to define him in his ongoing effort to disgrace journalism and the hard-working men and women who truly are struggling to be non-biased, use facts, base opinion on facts, see both sides of an issue and simply do the right thing. Hannity, however, has never allowed the truth to get in the way of good, old-fashioned and right-wing bias. Honestly, it’s amazing when you see all the garbage that Hannity has tried to sell to the public during the last year. Credible media outlets would probably fire someone so often wrong and so clearly biased. What does Fox News do? It is about to reward Hannity (who is a right-wing, unapologetic bigot with well-documented associations with racists and anti-Semites) with his own prime-time show every night on FNC. Legendary boxing promoter Don King used to say “only in America.” In this case, big Don might say, “only on Fox News” can a person like Hannity be rewarded with his own show.
