Karl Rove, who is about as conservative and biased as it gets, nonetheless is regularly given a platform on Fox News to spew right-wing hatred while disguised as an objective “analyst.” This is yet another unethical practice on the part of Fox News that spits in the face of the principles objectivity so many hard-working and honest journalists strive to live up to every day. Most people tend to view Dick Cheney, the outgoing vice president, as someone who lacks ethics and character, as someone who is power hungry and obsessed with control, and as someone who will go down as one of the most hated politicians of all time. But, Rove still finds a way to defend his brothers in the GOP … even with the mess the Bush Administration has made of the United States of America (a mess that I tend to hold Cheney most responsible for).
Here is a comment from Cheney captured by Think Progress:
ROVE: You know what’s amazing to me? I would never believe that Vice President Cheney,I know for fact certain he never asked President Bush, Governor Bush at the time in 2000 for the kind of commitment that Senator Biden apparently asked of Senator Obama, that you know, I, the vice president, have to be in the room at every major decision you make and you have to consult with me.
Vice president-elect Joe Biden has not even stepped into office yet Rove already is accusing him of trying to acquire more power than Cheney had (as if that is somehow even remotely possible). It would be interesting if Rove’s “analysis” was held to the scrutiny that most reporters have to provide in written stories. Rove is allowed to push forth right-wing talking points and he is rarely (if ever) counterbalanced with someone from the left to at least match the level of propaganda.
