Fox News had Bill O’Reilly on Monday night to provide “analysis” of President Barack Obama’s first news conference. Surely Bill was going to dig deep into the details of President Obama’s words and break down the facts with detailed and unbiased analysis. And, of course, O’Reilly would bring on a team of analysts who would help him read between the lines and answer the questions that the American people want to have answered and synthesize the answers for the American people. That was his role, right? Wrong. Instead of digging deep to analyze what the president had to say, O’Reilly instead regressed to his Inside Edition days and started bashing the speech as being boring even when his Republican-heavy panel (most of whom have little to no use for President Obama) disagreed with him and tried to remind him that it was a press conference and not the performing arts. O’Reilly, who fancies himself off as the common man and an independent, came across as an elitist snob seeking to bash the president by whatever means he could muster. Who cares if he is boring or long winded? This is not designed to impress and entertain (especially an arrogant right-wing boob like O’Reilly). This is designed to inform the people and answered their questions. Bill O’Reillysounded like a moron as he continued to hammer away at one long-winded Obama question. O’Reilly, a phony, beat the issue to death and it was a slap at Obama.
