Sen. Roland Burris has many people scratching their heads and wondering: Did we ever really know this cat? How deep was he involved in the political mess in Illinois? What else has Sen. Burris not told us? Can we believe anything he does tell us? Hey, we seem to have more questions than answers with Sen. Burris? Seriously, how bad must Burris have wanted to become a United States senator? Apparently, he wanted it bad enough that it “appears” he may have been willing to stretch the truth or use the don’t-ask-don’t-tell approach to concealment. Sen. Burris has a lot to answer for now that he has what he really wanted. Legally, he was entitled to the position (even if he was being nominated for it by disgraced former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich), but morally he is beginning to look far more shaky than we could possibly have imagined.
