Whether Ignorant Or Racist … New York Post Cartoonist Out Of Line With Disgusting Comic

Sean Delonas, the “artist” who is responsible for the reprehensible cartoon (published in the New York Post which is part of the Rupert Murdoch empire that includes Fox News) that showed a chimpanzee being gunned down in the street and saying basically that now someone else was going to have to write the stimulus bill has caused controversy. Delonas has come out swinging to defend himself:

This is from CNN:
But in a brief phone interview with CNN, Delonas called the controversy “absolutely friggin’ ridiculous.”
“Do you really think I’m saying Obama should be shot? I didn’t see that in the cartoon,” Delonas told CNN.
“It’s about the economic stimulus bill,” he added. “If you’re going to make that about anybody, it would be [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi, which it’s not.”

Delonas may or may not be a racist, but clearly he is monumentally ignorant of culture and race. Is this cat so dumb that he could not realize how offensive this was going to be? Is this guy so dumb that he does not realize the obvious hateful racial stereotypes that he touched on with this so-called work of art? Is he that ignorant of the fact that we have the first black president of the United States of America who has been championing this stimulus bill? Duh, obviously it is about the economic stimulus bill, but this dude is just too stupid to realize the depth and breadth of his own ignorance. Here is what I find interesting about his response. Do you notice how his response never mentions the hateful racist imagery?
