I’ve always paid close attention to how people end articles that are supposed to be fair and balanced (the slogan of Fox News Channel, which is anything but fair and balanced). I was reading an article on the Fox News Channel Web site about an article the partisan Fox News contributor and New York Times columnist Bill Kristol was quoted in about Gov. Sarah Palin’s attack role in this presidential campaign. Gov. Palin is in the attack role because Republicans can always claim any counterattack is sexism or Palin-bashing and Sen. John McCain can play the good cop to Gov. Palin’s bad cop. But, the Fox News article is interesting as this is the way it is ended (you can almost picture that stupid grin of conservative satisfaction as Kristol said that and as he rereads his comments, ”Kristol told FOX News that Palin “seems to be enjoying” her role of taking the attack to Obama’s camp. ’She’s a good natural politician and she doesn’t think Barack Obama should be the president,’ Kristol said. He added that he thinks it could be useful to discuss Obama’s relationships, even though ‘the conventional wisdom, which is as long as the Dow is going down 450 points, it’s pointless to talk about Bill Ayers or Reverend Jeremiah Wright” is incorrect. ‘I don’t really agree with that. I think character and judgment for a presidential choice in a time of crisis remains awfully important,’ he said.” The reason it is interesting to read the ending of this article is that it (as endings sometimes do) reveals the political lean of Fox News by ending with a comment that challenges Sen. Obama’s “character” and “judgement.” Yet another example of Fox News Channel bias.
