Sen. John McCain Uses Another Disguised Racial Attack Against Sen. Barack Obama

I will give credit to Sen. John McCain for one thing: He and his people are clever. The McCain campaign is coming up with increasingly clever ways to use racial politics to try and scare small-town whites into voting against Sen. Barack Obama in this race for the presidency. The latest comes in the form of invoking the “W” word (no, it has nothing to do with George W. Bush or the new Oliver Stone movie about the president). The “W” word is welfare. Sen. McCain is accusing Sen. Obama of preparing to turn the IRS into ”into a giant welfare agency.” This is another scare tactic designed to make white Americans view Sen. Obama of taking from rich whites or upper-middle class whites and giving it to undeserving black welfare recipients. It’s subtle racism, but still offensive. Everything that Sen. McCain’s campaign has tried has worked to try and paint Sen. Obama as a terrorist, a terrorist sympathizer, as being too black, as being an affirmative action candidate, as being “not one of us” and so on and so forth. The campaign of hate, from the McCain campaign, continues and seemingly with no end in sight.
